Dear Families,

We have some new and exciting changes at La Patera ASES after school program. Starting this school year, La Patera ASES program is now partnering with IVYP, a local nonprofit organization that supports and strengthens families in Goleta and Isla Vista with child care and support services. This new collaboration means that La Patera families will now have easier access to many services that IVYP provides to the community as IVYP will now have a direct connection to the families of La Patera School. It also means that the after school program will benefit from IVYP’s experience; which will allow the program to grow and expand similar to the IVYP/ASES program at Isla Vista Elementary School, which has been successfully running in partnership for over 18 years and El Camino Elementary for the past two years. IVYP is excited for this new opportunity to partner with La Patera school. If you would like to know more about IVYP, please visit our website at www.ivyp.org. This school year, the after school program will be held virtually via Zoom. The program will start September 8th, Monday thru Friday on all school days from 3:00-5:00pm. Students will be placed in grade level groups of no more than 15 students per group, supervised by at least 3 staff, in order to provide a 1:5 ratio or better. The program will consist of two parts; during the first half students will participate in a group activity, for the second half students will receive academic support in small groups run by our staff, including America Reads & Counts Tutors. Students will receive a bag of materials they will need to participate in the activities each trimester. We’re confident your student will enjoy our virtual program; we’ve learned a lot from running a successful virtual program last Spring and over the Summer. We’re excited to get the new school year started! This program will be free for all students. To register please fill out the enrollment form online.
